Sad Songs in Your Basement

I started this podcast in March 2020, locked in the house like everyone else. It’s evolving, like everything else.

Episode 9. This one has a song by me, after a song by Steely Dan.

Episode 8! Rain! Pizza!

Episode 7’s got School stuff - getting sort of organized with it - and a trip over to see the wizards on Toronto Island, a story about ducks fucking, and a song by Ani Difranco called Untouchable Face. (June 17th 2020)

This one's got several Corrections (factual and personal); a discussion of Schools that is starting to take a shape; a trip to Toronto Islands; ducks fucking...

Episode 6 has wide ranging ranting, a lot of talk about Rutger Bregman, a trip to the far side of Toronto Islands and a cover of Martin Tielli’s incredible Double X, from We Didn’t Even Suspect That He Was the Poppy Salesman.

Episode 5 has strange bottles in the lake, raccoons (apparently NOT dead, just resting), giant deadly mistakes, some dishing on schools and a song by Smog called Cold Blooded Old Times.

Episode 4’s got some reminiscing about Kurt Vonnegut’s impact on my life, a rant about unqualified leaders who are faking it, and for May 1st, the song is Horses by the Rheostatics.

Episode 3 is a short one, but it's got Kirk Carter's linocut postcard saving my day, some honesty about the strange feelings in this bullshit era, and a sad Earth Day Song by Spirit of the West called If Venice Is Sinking.

Episode 2! This one's got a "How's Yr Covid?" with my friend Bryan Reigate. Also a little look at Death's End by Liu Xijin, a tshirt story about sometimes finally getting what you want, and a sad, sad song by Vic Chesnutt called Rabbit Box.

The first episode’s got something I love; fabulous tshirts; “COVID How's It Goin?” and a sad song by the Tragically Hip called 38 Years Old.
